Bucket List

Instead of one massive bucket list “for life”, I read a great suggestion on Lesley Carter’s Bucket List Publications to create a short bucket list (~5 achievements/accomplishments) per year. This is a great manageable way to organize my thoughts.

To come

  • Be within 10lb of pre-pregnancy weight (summer 2014)
  • Start regular exercise again (regular walks through the nice months)
  • Run a 5K race
  • Read at least one book per month
  • Travel to two new places (no new places but lots of familiar places)
  • Try a new activity once per month (yes! usually baby-centered activities)
  • Self-study French
  • Grow more vegetables in our garden (yes! we tried kale, bok choy, peas)
  • Care for our baby (I think so? Just kidding!)

2013 (see here for my 2013 achievement-setting)

  • Ride the Maid of the Mist by Niagara Falls (September 2013)
  • Bike Île d’Orléans in Quebec from farm to farm, eating! *on hold for a future year
  • Visit family and friends in Vancouver (July 2013)
  • Can pears again; try canning peaches (made applesauce and canned tomato sauce instead)
  • Continue with CSA for vegetables and beef (joined veggie CSA for summer) (joined Roots and Shoots CSA and Grazing Days CSA)
  • Grow some berries and more vegetables this summer in our garden
  • Complete 5 project management courses this year (towards a Project Management certificate) (only completed 3 courses)
  • Run a 5K race (ran the Winterman 5K)
  • Renovate kitchen (completed June 2013)
  • Try working on a compressed schedule (started in January 2013)

  • take a train across Canada  (completed Vancouver to Winnipeg and Winnipeg to Ottawa in the summer, then Ottawa to Quebec City in the fall)
  • attend the World Domination Summit (July 2012)
  • visit a farm for Halloween
  • renovate either the bathroom or the kitchen (postponed to 2013) (completed kitchen reno in 2013)
  • sew 2 throw pillow covers (November 2012)
