There is nothing quite like the casual breakfast preparation on a weekend morning with the luxury of leisurely cooking compared to the more harried weekday breakfasts, a symptom of the desire to snooze as long as possible and make a certain bus for the commute to work. Usually, there is fresh baked bread or pancakes but this past week was a foray into new territory: biscuits!
Accompanying these were the regular smoothies (a great way for me to use the leftover cranberry skins after making cranberry juice, as well as frozen peaches/nectarines/strawberries from the summer and bananas) and carrot and potato hashbrowns (grated carrot, potato, garlic, and salt).
It was really awesome having piping hot biscuits for breakfast. So very awesome.
